  • News

SECURE-NET kick-off meeting concluded this Monday, November 10th. The facilities of the hosting University of Tartu served as perfect grounds for productive face-to-face conversations and deliberations, a welcome change after numerous Zoom calls and emails. Representatives of all 11 project partners from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and the Netherlands reviewed the progress made since the project’s start in September and discussed the steps to be taken moving forward.

The main task, however, was finalisation of the draft list of secondments that will see SECURE-NET partners exchange 31 research talents over the course of the upcoming 4 years. The list outlines the goals and expected outcomes of each visit, serving as the basis for other project activities that are simultaneously underway. In addition to exchanging researchers, the project partner institutions will organise four international workshops, as well as numerous local training and dissemination events, with the central goal of accelerating the transformation of scientific breakthroughs and innovations into practical cybersecurity solutions.

The meeting was a perfect segue into the 30th Nordic Conference on Secure IT Systems, NordSec 2025, hosted by the University of Tartu on November 12-13. Relevant to many participating project partners, the conference provides additional opportunities for networking, ensuring the project is off to a great start.
