Secure-NET: Enhancing Cross-Sectoral Collaboration in Cybersecurity project presents a webinar series offering first-hand wartime experience from Ukraine on cybersecurity and the resilience of critical infrastructure. Led by Прикарпаттяобленерго and Карпатський національний університет імені Василя Стефаника, these public events serve as a platform for sharing practical lessons on protecting electrical substations, applying digital twin technologies, ensuring institutional continuity under extreme disruption and other related topics. The series explores how cybersecurity challenges are addressed during crises and armed conflict, drawing on real-world case studies from the energy and higher education sectors.
The first webinar, titled “Wartime Cybersecurity of Critical Infrastructure: Context and Digital Twin Use Case Study”, took place on the 16th of June 2026.
The first half of the event revolved around the topic of wartime cybersecurity of critical infrastructure. More specifically, presenters discussed a digital twin of a substation as a practical cybersecurity tool in wartime conditions. The webinar participants learned about its context, development, deployment, and functionality. The use case demonstrated not only the visual characteristics but also its practical applicability and training value.
In the second half of the webinar, participants learned about the challenges and solutions involved in relocating the university’s infrastructure and maintaining its continuity under wartime conditions.
Next webinar in the series is set to take place in November later this year.
